Here at Saje, it’s always been our mission to use the power of plants to help improve our day-to-day lives. Though our business began back in 1992 as a solution to address remedial needs like natural sleep support, pain relief, stress release and more, in the last 30+ years we’ve expanded our assortment to help people meet all of their daily wellness needs, including creating alternatives for every day essentials, like a car air freshener for example. Like everything we do at Saje, we set out to create something that was thoughtful, intentional and simple to use, but that would improve the experience of anyone spending multiple hours each day, week and year in their vehicle.
What we’re proud to share is that we're re-launching the Aroma Horizon: Next Gen clip-on passive car diffuser with a series of updated and improved features based on our community's feedback and opportunities for refinement. We know a clip-on car diffuser has been a highly requested part of our assortment, and so this new version has been functionally optimized for improved scent throw and performance, to better meet the needs of anyone looking to replace a synthetic car air freshener with an option that uses 100% plant-derived essential oils for aroma.
Upgrades and refinements in the Aroma Horizon: Next Gen
You’re likely wondering what these upgrades and refinements include; how have we increased ventilation and airflow? What does this mean for scent throw performance? The Aroma Horizon: Next Gen is equipped with optimized 360° airflow - the unit now has two additional rear vents plus a new, large hourglass-shaped front vent designed to enhance aromatic output. This allows for smoother airflow that enters from the back and emits through the front that creates forward projection of aroma. The benefit to the user? Stronger, more noticeable scent throw and longevity of aromatics.
We've also made improvements to wicks that absorb and disperse essential oil aroma inside the unit, changing to a round shape that has an increased surface area and that allows for 360° air exposure and improved essential oil distribution. The larger size wicks will now hold more essential oil within their structure, which promotes more consistent scent strength and longevity of diffusion time, which we’re certain will enhance the user experience.
How does the Aroma Horizon: Next Gen work?
The Aroma Horizon: Next Gen is a passive diffuser, meaning that is absorbs essential oils and then lets them evaporate naturally into the air without the use of electricity or water. It attaches to the vents in your car and works by warm or cool air flowing through the vents and allowing you to experience the gentle, aromatic benefits of essential oils in place of synthetic air fresheners.
The experience of using a passive diffuser is quick and easy; simply insert the wick inside the diffuser, add 10-15 drops, depending on preference, of your favorite diffuser blend onto the wick and close the lid. The lid includes a magnetic feature which allows it to be swiveled or removed while filling the wick. The wick can be filled within the lid of the diffuser, performing similarly to a tray. Then, clip the diffuser onto the car vent and enjoy the benefits of essential oils as air blows through the vent.
It’s recommended to re-apply the diffuser blend of your choice to the wick approximately every 5-9 days, depending on your personal preference for scent strength, and our pro tip is that for a consistent scent experience, we recommend using each wick for just one essential oil or blend; you may experience your aromas becoming 'muddled' if too many different oils or blends are combined. The Aroma Horizon: Next Gen comes with four total wicks and refills are sold separately.

The Aroma Horizon: Next Gen is newly imagined and newly designed, in a standard black colorway, made of metal. This version will be housed in a cream colored, textural vegan leather bag, to store extra wicks/sticks and diffuser blends.
We also want to note that it's important to only use essential oils and blends that are suitable for keeping you uplifted and in the moment while driving; we don't recommend using oils or blends that are known to have a calming or sedative effect while operating a motor vehicle, to ensure your safety and the safety of others on the road.
